Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team has advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Quarterfinals for the 11th straight year, as the Flyers picked up the 78-59 win over Saint Joseph's in a GLVC Championship Tournament First Round contest at Neil Carey on Sunday (Feb. 26). No other team has advanced to the GLVC Quarterfinals in the past 11 years.
Lewis junior forward
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) led four Flyers in double-figures with a game-high 21 points on 10-for-14 shooting, including nine rebounds. Eight of those points came in a 21-5 run over the final 6:25 to help the Flyers clinch the victory.
With the win, Lewis improves to 17-12 overall and the Pumas end the season with a mark of 12-17. This marks the eighth-straight year that Lewis has won at least 17 games, joining only Bellarmine, Drury and Southern Indiana as the only other GLVC teams to achieve this feat.

Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) scored 15 points, while freshman center
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) collected 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting, including seven rebounds.

Nick Norton (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range and finished with 10 points, while sophomore
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) tied a career-highs in both assists (6) and rebounds (13) - both game-highs.
Lewis shot 45.6% (31-for-68) as a team and 41.2% (7-for-17) from three-point range, while the Pumas knocked down 34.3% (23-for-67) of their shots and 30.4% (7-for-23) of their long range attempts. The Flyers also outrebounded Saint Joseph's, 47-38.
The Flyers will play Quincy in a GLVC Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match-up at a yet-to-be determined time on Thursday (March 2) at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.
