Miles Simelton (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) hit a jumper with 6.3 seconds left to help the Flyers upset second-seeded Quincy University in the 2017 Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Basketball Championship Tournament Quarterfinals at the Ford Center on Thursday (March 2) night.
With the win, Lewis improves to 18-12, while the Hawks drop to 24-6. Lewis moves on to the GLVC Semifinals, where they will meet No. 6 seeded Truman State at 2:30 PM on Saturday (March 4).

Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) and freshman center
Anthony D'Avanzo (Harwood Heights, Ill./Notre Dame) each posted double-doubles to pace the Flyer offensive attack. Blaylock netted 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting - including four three-pointers - and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. D'Avanzo was 8-for-11 from the field and finished with a season-high 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Flyers also received 11 points and eight boards from junior forward
Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay).
Lewis shot 50.8% (32-for-63) from the field, including a 58.1% (18-for-31) outing in the final 20 minutes. Quincy, who held an eight-point halftime lead, shot 44.8% (30-for-67) from the field and 38.7% (12-for-31) in the second half. Both teams hit nine three-pointers on the evening.Â
