East Peoria, Ill. - The No. 3 Lewis University women's volleyball team advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Semifinals for the third-straight year with the 25-12, 25-16, 25-19 sweep over the University of Indianapolis in a GLVC Quarterfinal match-up at the EastSide Centre on Friday (Nov. 17).
The Flyers, led by a match-high 13 kills from sophomore outside hitter
Alexandra Preuss (Elmhurst, Ill./York), recorded a blistering hitting percentage of .337 (45 kills, 11 errors, 101 attacks) against the Greyhounds. UIndy managed to hit .095 (29-19-105) for the match.
Lewis junior outside hitter
Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) narrowly missed a double-double with 11 kills and nine digs.
Lewis (29-2) will take on fifth-seeded UIS at 5:30 PM on Saturday (Nov. 18) for the right to advance to Sunday's Championship match. UIndy ends its season with a record of 13-19.
