East Peoria, Ill. -
The Lewis University softball team ran into a buzzsaw as Missouri-St. Louis junior pitcher Hannah Perryman (25-3) tossed a complete-game, one-hit shutout while fanning 17 Flyers to help the top-seeded Tritons to the 3-0 victory in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament at the EastSide Centre on Saturday (May 2) afternoon.

With the victory, UMSL (43-6) advances to the championship round on Sunday (May 3), while the Flyers (27-21) will be back in action later on Saturday at 5 PM against the winner of the Indianapolis/Rockhurst contest.

UMSL senior rightfielder Katie Rutledge provided all the offense that Perryman would need, as she drove in two runs, including a solo home run and a bases-loaded walk.

Lewis senior Kelly Bowler (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) was tagged with the loss for the Flyers. Bowler (17-13) gave up three runs and scattered seven hits while striking out seven Tritons.
