Lewis Women's Basketball Announces Signing Class

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University women's basketball coach Dorian Dunson announced the signing of six members for the 2025-26 season, his first recruiting class at Lewis.
 
Danica Gosz – As a senior at Germantown High School she averaged 20.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She was a WBCA All-Star Game selection as a senior, Elite Academic All-State, Honorable Mention All-State and All-Area. She was also a two-time First-Team All-Conference selection and was Honorable Mention All-Conference as a sophomore. Gosz finished her career as a 1,000 point scorer and set the school record for free throw percentage in a season (87%) and career (83%).
 
Sarah Helm – She was a 1,000-point career scorer at Cedarburg High School and set the single game scoring record. Helm averaged 20 points, seven rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game, while shooting 46 percent from the floor and 38 percent from the three-point line. She was Honorable Mention All-Conference as a sophomore and junior, was First Team All-Conference as a senior and All-State Honorable Mention as a senior.
 
Justina Hernandez – The guard arrives from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she spent the past four years. She attended Glenbard North High School where she was All-Conference all four years.
 
Lauren Perry – The Nursing major is a 6-foot, 2-inch shooting guard from Carmel High School. She was a Top 100 Showcase member three times in high school and as a junior was the three-point percentage leader, converting 41 of 97 from beyond the arc. She averaged 7.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a senior. Perry was also Academic All-State Honorable Mention.
 
Tene Smith – The Psychology major is headed to Lewis after two years at the University of Evansville. In 2023 she averaged 3.2 points and 1.3 assists per game as a point guard. She set a career-high with 16 points against Southern Illinois on February 15. She is from Ontario, Canada, where she was a member of Team Ontario with Canada Basketball. Smith was also a member of Team Canada for the Jr. NBA Global Tournament.
 
Layla Williams – The Wayne High School alum is a 6-foot, 1-inch center who spent two years on varsity at Wayne. She averaged 8.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game as a junior and 8.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game as a senior.
