KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The No. 19 Lewis University men's lacrosse team was unable to come away with the victory Saturday (April 8) as the Flyers suffered a setback against Rockhurst 13-8.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER: Rockhurst 1, Lewis 1
- Kevin Blaz (McHenry, IL/Marian Central Catholic HS) started the scoring in the first three minutes of the contest after finding the back of the net.
- Rockhurst tied the match up with a goal of its own.
SECOND QUARTER: Rockhurst 4, Lewis 3
- Lewis started the second quarter with the first two goals for a 3-1 lead.
- Clement scored his 24th goal of the season in the opening two minutes of the period.
- Nate McLean (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake Central HS) quickly made it 3-1 as he found the back of the net.
- The Hawks responded with three straight goals to grab a 4-3 advantage.
- Clement was able to find Speers to tie the game back up at 4-4 with 5:58 left in the second.
- Rockhurst took the lead in the closing seconds of the first half with its fifth goal of the match.
THIRD QUARTER: Rockhurst 4, Lewis 4
- Clement tied the match up at 5-5 to start the second half with his second goal of the match.
- Both teams each traded three goals a piece which tied it up at 6-6.
- Buddelmeyer found Speers for his second goal of the match to tie it up.
- Buddelmeyer recorded his second straight assist after finding Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, MN/Totino-Grace HS) for a 8-7 lead.
- RU scored the final two goals of the third quarter in the final 63 seconds which gave the Hawks a 9-8 advantage.
FOURTH QUARTER: Rockhurst 4, Lewis 0
- The Hawks scored the four goals in the fourth quarter and held Lewis off the scoreboard.
FINAL SCORE: Rockhurst 13, Lewis 8
