Romeoville, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Tuesday (Jan. 2) that Lewis University junior forward
Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) has been named the GLVC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 31.
It is the ninth time in her career that she has won the award and the third time this season.
In her lone game of the week, Kelliher had 25 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks as the Flyers defeated Saginaw Valley State 74-45 on Dec. 30. It was her third double-double of the season.
She shot 10-for-14 (71%) from the floor and 5-of-7 (71%) from the foul line.
Kelliher continues to lead Division II women in scoring at 24.8 points per game.
"Jess has really stepped her game up before the New Year," Lewis head women's basketball coach
Samantha Quigley Smith said. "She is not only scoring and rebounding, but she is defending and stopping her player cleanly.
"We're excited to see what she has to add to her game in 2018."
The Flyers' first game of 2018 will be Thursday (Jan. 4) at 5:30 PM against Illinois Springfield at Neil Carey Arena.
