Evansville, Ind. - The No. 4 Bellarmine University men's basketball team used a 12-0 run over the final three minutes to earn the 74-61 win over Lewis University and claim the 2017 Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at the Ford Center on Sunday (March 5).

Cristen Wilson (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) topped the Flyers with 21 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore swingman
Delaney Blaylock (Wyoming, Mich./Godwin Heights) pitched in 14 points. Following the game, both Blaylock and Wilson were selected to the GLVC All-Tournament Team.
With the victory, Bellarmine improves to 28-3 while the Flyers end the season with a record of 19-13.
As a team, Lewis shot 44.4% (24-for-54) and 35.0% (7-for-20) from three-point range, while the Knights knocked down 44.9% (22-for-49) of their shots and 37.0% (10-for-27) of their long distance attempts.
Bellarmine enjoyed a sizeable advantage at the free throw line, as the Knights knocked down 20-for-23 of their charity tosses, while the Flyers were 6-for-8 from the line.
