Lewis' Kelliher Earns GLVC Women's Hoops Player Of The Week Honors, Again

Junior forward posted 37 points and 10 rebounds in win over Ferris State

Romeoville, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Monday (Nov. 27) that Lewis University junior forward Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) has been named the GLVC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending November 26th.

It is the eighth time Kelliher has earned the award and the second time in three weeks.

In two regional victories last week, Kelliher averaged 25.5 points and seven rebounds per game, while shooting 64.5 percent (20-for-31) from the field. She added six assists, five blocks and four steals in the two games.

Her week was highlighted by a 37-point, 10-rebound performance in Lewis' 81-77 win at Ferris State Sunday (Nov. 26). It was the third highest scoring output in NCAA Division II this year.

The 37 points is also the most in the GLVC since she scored 38 points against Maryville on Jan. 13, 2017.

"Jess truly is the definition of hard work," Lewis head women's basketball coach Samantha Quigley Smith said. "On off days, she's one of the first who is leading the charge with a passion to get in the gym and get better.

"That's something you truly need on a team in order to be successful."

Lewis returns to the court Thursday (Nov. 30) when it travels to take on Southern Indiana at 5:30 PM.
