Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University junior forward
Jessica Kelliher (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha North) led four Flyers in double-figures with a game-high 19 points and eight rebounds, as the Flyer women's basketball team earned the 96-70 exhibition victory over Augustana at Neil Carey Arena on Saturday (Oct. 28).
Kelliher was 9-for-13 from the field and added three assists, two steals and a block in the victory.
Lewis sophomore guard
Dajae Black (Chicago, Ill./Marist) was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and finished with 13 points, while sophomore forward
Rachel Hinders (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Flyer junior guard
Gabby Green (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and a game-high nine assists.
Lewis shot 56.5% (39-for-69) from the field, while holding the Vikings to a 33.8% (27-for-80) shooting performance.
Both teams turned the ball over 18 times, but Lewis capitalized on the Augie miscues, outscoring the Vikings, 22-8. The Flyers also held a 62-34 advantage in points in the paint.
Lewis opens the 2017-18 campaign on November 10th, as the Flyers host Hillsdale for a 3 PM tip-off.
