East Peoria, Ill. - No. 15 Lewis University's repeat bid for a Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball title fell short, as Truman State claimed the 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-11 win over the top-seeded Flyers in the GLVC Championship Tournament Semifinals at the EastSide Centre on Saturday (Nov. 19) afternoon.

Maddie Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx Hall) narrowly missed a 20/20 performance with a match-high 19 kills along with 20 digs. The Flyers also received 15 kills from junior middle hitter
Aly Schneider (Granger, Ind./Penn) and a double-double of 13 kills and 14 digs from sophomore outside hitter
Elizabeth Hyland (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central).
The Flyers also received a match-high 28 digs from redshirt senior libero
Nicole Yuede (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North).
With the win, Truman State improves to 17-16 overall and Lewis' nine-match winning streak comes to an end and brings the Flyers' record to 25-7. Lewis now awaits its NCAA Tournament opponent which will be announced at 6:30 PM on
NCAA.com on Monday (Nov. 21) night.
As a team, Truman State hit .236 (60 kills, 19 errors, 174 attacks), including a .357 (12-2-28) performance in Game Five. Lewis hit .191 (68-31-194) and held a hitting percentage of .107 (6-3-28) in the final game.
