Kansas City, Mo. -
The Lewis University men's tennis team won its first match of the day, but that was all the Flyers could muster as Missouri-St. Louis won the next five to claim the 5-1 victory in a Great Lakes Valley Conference Quarterfinal showdown at the Plaza Tennis Center on Friday (April 17) afternoon.

"This was a tough loss," Lewis head men's tennis coach Brett Bridel said. "I thought UMSL outplayed, outworked and outcoached us today."

With the victory, UMSL improves to 12-7 overall, while the Flyers end the season with a record of 12-9.

Lewis' doubles tandem of Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) and Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka) won at No. 1 doubles with the 8-4 victory over UMSL's Harry Heyburn and Nils Mueggenbuerg.
