Lewis finishes the season with a record of 23-24, while Illinois Springfield is 27-24. Truman State improved to 41-9 following their win over the Flyers.
In the opener against Truman State, Lewis jumped on GLVC Co-Pitcher of the Year Kindra Henze for five runs in the first inning. Senior third baseman
Alyssa Moseley (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) connected for a two-run double, while freshman second baseman
Carolyn Nojiri (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) added a two-run single in the frame.
The Bulldogs, however, responded with 10 unanswered runs between the second and fourth innings to secure the victory. The middle of the Bulldog line-up provided the majority of the offensive damage, as junior third baseman Cate Simon (2-for-3, 3 runs, 2 RBI, HR), junior first baseman Liz Leath (3-for-4, 5 RBI, grand slam HR, run) and freshman catcher Alexis VanNostrand (4-for-4, RBI, run) combined to go 9-for-11 with eight RBI and five runs scored in the win.,
Lewis junior pitcher

Ali Brems (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside) each had two hits.
Against UIS, the Prairie Stars scored a single run in the third, fourth and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead over the Flyers. Lewis sophomore catcher
Kimmy Teats (Erie, Ill./Erie-Prophetstown) helped cut into that lead with her first career home run - a solo shot - in the sixth inning to bring the Flyers to within 3-1. Teats and Russell each had two hits to pace the Flyer offense.
The Flyers threatened in the top of the seventh inning, as they loaded the bases with one out. Moseley, however, lined into a double play to end the game.
Eight different UIS players recorded a base hit against Brems, with left fielder Shannon Ballegeer going 3-for-3 with a RBI triple and a run, while senior catcher Samantha Riss went 2-for-3 with a run.
Brems (5-3) gave up three runs, 11 hits and struck out three in six innings, while UIS starting pitcher Alex Smith picked up the complete-game win for the Prairie Stars. Smith allowed one run and scattered 10 hits in the victory, while fanning four.
