St. Louis, Mo. - The No. 47 Lewis University women's tennis team advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals for the fourth-straight year and extended its winning streak to nine matches with the 5-0 whitewash of Maryville at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center on Friday (Apr. 18) afternoon.
"We did a great job right from the start in doubles and that carried over into our singles with some really smart, solid play," Lewis head women's tennis coach
Brett Bridel said.
With the win, Lewis improves to 13-3 overall, while the Saints end the season with a record of 14-6.
Bridel mixed up his line-up in doubles play and it paid dividends as the Flyers won all three matches. Flyer senior

Megan Nguyen (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora) for the 8-3 win over Philine Schlorf and Adriana Armendariz at No. 1 doubles. Nguyen later cruised to the 6-1, 6-0 victory over Nicole Kitsuse at No. 4 singles.
Lewis senior
Zsofia Lanstiak (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium), the two-time GLVC Player of the Year, matched up with freshman
Ana Banic (Skradin, Croatia/Gimnazija Antuna Vrancica) at No. 2 doubles to defeat Anne Iutz and Makenna Parker, 8-3. Lanstiak picked up the 6-0, 6-1 win over Armendariz at No. 2 singles.
The Flyers' final victory came at No. 3 doubles, as senior
