Evansville, Ind. – The No. 11 Women's Basketball team couldn't find a rhythm on Thursday (March 6) as Truman State picked up an 84-70 victory in the 2014 Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Championship Tournament quarterfinal match up at the Ford Center.
The Flyers fall to 22-5 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 20-8 on the year.

Lisa Carlsen said. "They played a better ball game than we did, pretty consistently, over 40 minutes.
"We were able to string a couple of things together but we were unable to get defensive stops when we needed them."
Sophomore forward
Mariyah Brawner-Henley (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) led the Flyers with 23 points and 16 rebounds as she collected her 23
rd double-double of the season. Redshirt sophomore guard
Jamie Johnson (South Holland, Ill./Marian Catholic) scored 22 points, including sinking three three-pointers. Junior forward
Jess Reinhart (Normal, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) chipped 12 points and five rebounds.
In the first half, the squads played a fast-paced game that featured five tied scores, the last at 29-29 as Brawner-Henley got the put back at the 6:09 mark. Truman State was able to dictate the pace of the game, closing the half on a 12-3 run to take a 41-32 advantage into the locker room.
Truman State pushed their lead to 13 in the second half, at 45-32, before the Flyers were able to use a 11-3 run to get it down to four points at 48-44 by the 16:30 mark. Reinhart tallied six of the Flyers points as Brawner-Henley picked up the other five.
The Bulldogs quickly pushed their lead back to double-figures and withstood the Flyers attempts at connecting runs to get back in the game.
The Truman State offense was led by Bianca Szafarowicz's 22 points and eight rebounds while Allie Norton chipped in 18 points. Nicole Gloor and Amy Briggs both tallied 15 points for the Bulldogs.
The Flyers, who were ranked second in the March 5
th NCAA Midwest Regional rankings, now will wait until the Sunday (March 9) NCAA selection show to see how their post season continues. The selection show will be streamed on NCAA.com at 9 PM.
