Lewis’ Iandolo Named MVP at USA Volleyball Men’s Open Division Nationals

Mike Iandolo was named tournament MVP; led Team Florida Wave to a Championship


Romeoville, Ill. – Lewis University assistant men's volleyball coach and former Flyers' setter Mike Iandolo led Team Florida Wave to the Men's Open Division title at the USA Volleyball Open Nationals Championship on May 28 in Louisville, Ky. Iandolo was also named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
 
As a setter for the Flyers from 2008-10, Iandolo completed his career first in total assists (3,389) and assists-per-set average (12.02), and second in aces (101) during the rally-scoring era.
 
His squad went 7-0 in the tournament to advance to the championship match. Team Florida Wave fell 26-24, 15-25, 25-27, 27-25,15-11 but won in a golden set 25-22 victory over Team Pineapple, which included 2008 Olympic gold medalists Lloy Ball and Riley Salmon.
 
Iandolo and Team Florida Wave will compete in the five-team Premier Volleyball League on June 29-July 2 in Reno, Nevada.
