Romeoville, Ill. – The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association announced that Lewis University head women's basketball coach Lisa Carlsen has been named the 2013 NCAA Division II Coach of the Year, following the Flyers' run to the NCAA Tournament this past season.

Carlsen guided the Flyers to a 24-6 record, a Great Lakes Valley Conference title and was named the 2013 GLVC Coach of the Year. 
 
“This year's team was able to accomplish something that was very special,” Carlsen said.  “A GLVC championship with the caliber of basketball in this league is something to be proud of. 
 
“The credit really goes to our student athletes, my great staff (Kerri James and Kierra McCleary), and the support of many people.”
