Romeoville, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Thursday (Apr. 18) that Lewis University's Zsofia Lanstiak (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) (Budapest, Hungary/Karinthy Frigyes Gimnazium) was a unanimous selection as the GLVC Women's Tennis Player of the Year, while head coach Brett Bridel was named the GLVC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year for the second-straight season.

Lanstiak, who won the award in 2012, is the first repeat winner of the award since Lewis' Yuliya Kuznets (Vernon Hills, Ill./) was the league's top player in 2004 and 2005. The Budapest, Hungary native finished the regular-season with a singles-record of 22-1, including her current 18-match winning streak.

"I am really proud of Zsofia's efforts this year," Bridel said. "She has played amazing and I am thankful that the GLVC has recognized her performance."

She, along with fellow All-GLVC selection Zsofia Kranczicki (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium), are ranked No. 4 in the country in doubles play and own a record of 21-2, including their current 11-match winning streak. Their only two losses this season came against the No. 1 ranked team in the country.

Kranczicki owns a singles-record of 17-3 and is riding an 11-match winning streak heading into the postseason. She has been named to the All-GLVC Team in each of her three seasons.

Bridel helped the Flyers to a 6-0 mark in conference play and the outright GLVC East Division title. Entering this weekend's GLVC Women's Tennis Tournament, Lewis has won its last nine matches.

"I am proud that both Zsofia's made All-Conference and I am grateful that my peers in the GLVC voted me as coach of the year," Bridel said. "Obviously it is a product of how well the ladies have played all year."

Drury's Natalia Kozel was selected as the GLVC Freshman of the Year.
