Romeoville, Ill. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced on Tuesday (Apr. 16) that Lewis University sophomore
Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) has been selected as the GLVC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending April 14th.

Brett Bridel said. "He works so hard off of the court to be better for his team, has such great determination during every point of the match, and his ever-improving mental toughness is what has enabled him to be playing so well in the big matches."
Levandi won all six of his matches last week including three victories over regionally-ranked opponents. The Estonian native came-from-behind for the 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over McKendree's Gabor Toth - who is ranked 19th in the Midwest Region.
Levandi added a 6-2, 6-3 win over Ferris State's Laurent Galarneau, who is ranked sixth in the Midwest Region. He also teamed up with
Florian Etienne (Paris, France/Jean de la Fontaine) (Paris, France/Jean de la Fontaine/Shorter) for the 8-6 win over Ferris State's Razvan Mag and Galarneau - who are third in the region.
Overall, Levandi is 14-1 in singles play and has won his last nine matches. In doubles action, Levandi is a combined 11-4.
Lewis heads into the 2013 GLVC Men's Tennis Tournament on Friday (Apr. 19) as the Flyers take on Rockhurst, the No. 3 seed in the West, at 11 AM (ET) at the Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center at North Central High School.
