Florence, S.C.
- The No. 38 Lewis University men's tennis team had their first true test of the 2013 Spring campaign, but the Flyers fell short, as No. 27 Francis Marion claimed the 7-2 non-conference win on Tuesday (March 5) afternoon.

"I am very proud of our effort and fight today against a very good opponent," Lewis head men's tennis coach Brett Bridel said. "There were some key moments in both doubles and singles that our lack of match experience showed, but hopefully we can use this as a learning experience."

With the victory, Francis Marion improves to 6-3, while the visiting Flyers are now 2-1.

Lewis' No. 2 doubles tandem of senior Jesse Hardacre (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's) and John Richert (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) claimed the 8-5 win over Marius Wahlier and Luke Bateup, while sophomore Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) earned the 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Arnaud Holl at No. 2 singles.

Lewis returns to action on Wednesday (March 6) against No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State, in Savannah, Georgia. First serve is slated for 1 PM (ET).
