Capital One Academic All-District Softball Teams

Jayme Hefler (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) continues to make the grade both on and off the field, as the three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Softball First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A Second-Team All-District selection in 2011, the junior center fielder is now eligible for Academic All-America status which will be announced later this month.

George DiMatteo said. "She epitomizes the true meaning of student-athlete.
"She had an outstanding performance on the field this year, while achieving great success in the classroom."
An athletics training major, Hefler owns a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.62. She is a three-time Br. David Delahanty Award winner, given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence, and two-time Academic All-GLVC honoree.
This past season, Hefler led the Flyers with a .415 batting average, including a team-best 73 hits, 49 runs scored, .493 on-base percentage and 35 stolen bases on her way to All-GLVC East accolades.
