Indianapolis, Ind. -
Lewis University head men's basketball coach Scott Trost was happy with his team's first-half defensive performance as the Flyers held No. 25 Indianapolis to 21 points in the opening stanza.

The second-half was a different story, as the Greyhounds scored 52 points and rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to earn the 73-64 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory over the visiting Flyers at Nicoson Hall on Thursday (Feb. 16) night.

Indianapolis senior guard Adrian Moss collected a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists, while sophomore forward Leland Brown added 15 points and seven rebounds. Greyhounds senior center Wilbur O'Neal (9 rebounds) and sophomore guard Reece Cheatham each scored 11 points in the win.

Moss had 14 points and five assists in the second half.

"Adrian Moss took over the game and he did whatever he wanted out there," Trost said. "We did a poor job of stopping him and when you're giving up 52 points in a half, you're not going to beat anyone."

With the victory, Indianapolis improves to 17-7 overall and 10-6 in GLVC action, while the Flyers fall to 14-10 on the campaign and 6-10 in conference play.

Lewis senior point guard Chris McClellan (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Wheeling) topped the Flyers with 17 points, including three trifectas, while sophomore guard Nick Valla (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist) (Tinley Park, Ill./Marist/Missouri State) chipped in 15 points off of the bench.

After shooting 28.6% (8-for-28) from the field in the first-half, the Greyhounds responded in the second half and turned in a 57.1% (16-for-28) shooting performance. UIndy also took advantage of 16 Flyer turnovers, as the Greyhounds scored 16 points off of the Flyer miscues.

Indianapolis also enjoyed a sizeable advantage in points in the paint, as the Greyhounds outscored the Flyers, 30-18, after being tied at halftime with eight points apiece.

"As a group, we turned the ball over too many times and we can't afford to do that," Trost said. "We need to regroup and come back on Saturday and try to get a win for our seniors."

Lewis returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 18), as the Flyers welcome Saint Joseph's for 'Senior Day'. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. (CST) at Neil Carey Arena. The game will be broadcast on Lakeshore Public Television.
