Las Vegas, Nev.
- All it took was a pair of  Regis errors to open up the floodgates for the Lewis University softball team, as the Flyers scored seven unearned runs on their way to the 9-1 (6 inn.) non-conference win over the Rangers in the final game of Montana State-Billings' Desert Stinger Tournament at Majestic Park on Sunday (Feb. 12) afternoon.

Lewis sophomore first baseman Alyssa Moseley (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) led the offensive charge for the Flyers, as she went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-run home runs. Moseley hit three home runs for the entire tournament.

Lewis junior pinch hitter Alexis Munaco (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) added a two-run single, while freshman Ali Brems (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside) (Kenosha, Wis./Harborside) and juniors Michelle Vucsko (Chicago, Ill./Marist) (Chicago, Ill./Marist) and junior right fielder Lauren Hanford (Morris, Ill./Morris) (Morris, Ill./Morris) each posted a pair of base knocks and a RBI in the victory. Vucsko also scored three runs in the win.

With the win, Lewis improves to 2-3 on the season, while Regis remains winless at 0-5.

Lewis freshman hurler Kelly Bowler (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) earned her first collegiate victory, a complete-game, one-run seven-hitter. Bowler struck out two batters on the afternoon.

"All in all, it was a building point for us," Lewis head softball coach George DiMatteo said of the weekend. "A few clutch hits and we could have been 5-0. We had some players step up today. Kelly (Bowler) had her first collegiate win and Alyssa's two homers really put the game away."

Regis starting pitcher Nikki Haberkorn (0-3) took the loss for the Rangers, allowing nine runs, seven unearned, while surrendering 11 hits on the afternoon.

Lewis returns to action in two weeks, as they head to St. Cloud, Minn., to participate in the Husky Dome Classic. Their first contest is a 7 p.m. (CST) showdown against Jamestown (N.D.) on February 24th.
