OWENSBORO, Ky. – No. 20 Lewis women's volleyball earned a 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 17-25, 25-14) Great Lakes Valley Conference victory on Friday evening at Kentucky Wesleyan. The win gave Lewis their sixth consecutive 20-win season, a Division II era program record.
Senior
Hannah Koeneman (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) (New Haven, Ind/Woodlan) recorded 10 kills and seven blocks (one solo). She helped the Flyers out-hit the Panthers .342 to .117.
Lewis played 16 players with 11 Flyers recording a kill.
Junior
Colleen Mitros (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) had nine kills and two aces. She's recorded two or more aces in eight of the previous nine matches.

Carly Perschnick (Dwight, Ill./Dwight Township) (Dwight, Ill./Dwight Township/Nova Southeastern) totaled nine kills with a .571 hitting percentage. Junior
Mary Carroll (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) added four digs and two kills.
“Mary played three unique roles for us tonight,” head coach
Lorelee Smith said. “She was a right side and played two different defensive specialist spots. She brings a different type of energy to the court.”
The Flyers are now 20-5 (12-3 GLVC). Kentucky Wesleyan falls to 6-21 (0-15 GLVC). Lewis plays at Southern Indiana on Saturday at 3 p.m. for a key conference contest. Southern Indiana is tied with Indianapolis for the GLVC East Division lead, one match ahead of the third place Flyers. Southern Indiana defeated Lewis earlier in the season, handing the Flyers their first home regular season loss since 2007.
