NCAA Great Lakes Regional Preview Site Nov. 1, 2005 ROMEOVILLE - The Lewis University men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship Saturday, Nov. 5, in Big Rapids, Mich. Ferris State University is the host for the regional championship meet. The 6,000-meter women's race begins at 11 a.m. (EST), and the 10,000-meter men's race begins at noon. The Flyer men are aiming to finish among the top four in the team standings, a feat that would earn coach Rick Wemple's team a berth in the Nov. 19 NCAA Division II Championship. Lewis junior Andy Tremble, who captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship Oct. 22, is one of the favorites to contend for the regional title. The Flyer women are led by sophomore Terran Wertz, who collected all-conference honors by finishing sixth at the GLVC Championship. |
