INDIANAPOLIS - Lewis University senior Terran Wertz placed 12th among 91 runners to lead Flyers at the 2007 Great Lakes Valley Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday. Wertz covered the 6K course in 23:15.89, missing the all-conference cut by just 17 seconds. Freshman Kathryn Hague (23:34.00) joined Wertz in the top 20, finishing 17th overall. Seniors Kristin Johnson (24:13.51) and Theresa Dexl (25:29.30) came in 36th and 59th, respectively. Freshmen Hailey Justes (25:47.05) and Danielle Thompson (26:24.59) rounded out the Lewis scoring group, coming in 64th and 70th. Senior Angela Whalen (28:06.11) also ran for Lewis, placing 86th. The Flyers (165) took eighth place. Wisconsin-Parkside (46 points) earned the league title for a fourth consecutive season. Next up for Lewis is the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 3. |
