Oct. 3, 2006 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University's Lauren Hatter is the Baden Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The sophomore libero helped the Flyers register two GLVC wins last week. Hatter put together back-to-back 30-dig performances as the Flyers defeated Saint Joseph's College, 3-1 (25-30, 30-26, 32-30, 30-25), on Sept. 29 and regionally-ranked Indianapolis, 3-1 (31-33, 32-30, 30-27, 30-22), on Sept. 30. Against Saint Joseph's, Hatter collected a career-high 33 digs, the highest four-game dig total in the GLVC this season. The following night at Indianapolis, Hatter amassed 30 digs, giving her a 7.88 digs-per-game average for the week. For the season, Hatter ranks fifth in the conference with a 4.59 digs-per-game average. She has reached the 30-dig mark three times and, as a result, owns the conference's top three dig totals in four-game matches. Hatter is the first Flyer to be honored as Player of the Week since Andrea Morrone won the accolade on August 29, 2005. The Flyers have won five straight matches and 11 of their last 12. Lewis is 13-4 overall and currently in second place in the GLVC at 7-1. The Flyers will return to action against visiting University of Missouri-St. Louis on Oct. 6 and Quincy University on Oct. 7.
