Sophomore Andrea Morrone averaged 10.14 assists, 4.29 digs, 1.07 kills and 1.00 blocks per game while leading Lewis to a 4-0 week.
 
Morrone Named GLVC Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS-Lewis University sophomore setter Andrea Morrone has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball Player of the Week for August 29.

Morrone (Orland Park, Ill./Stagg) led the Flyers to a 4-0 season start at the Mile High Classic and claimed the tournament championship over the weekend.

Lewis defeated Texas Woman's University (3-0), Chadron State (3-1), Central Oklahoma (3-1), and host Colorado Christian (3-0) for the Mile High title.

Morrone registered 142 assists, 60 digs, 14 blocks, 15 kills, and three aces during the four matches. She averaged 10.14 assists, 4.29 digs, 1.07 kills and 1.00 blocks per game for the weekend.

Against Central Oklahoma, the preseason favorite to win the Lonestar Conference, Morrone tallied 21 digs, 47 assists, and a career-high seven blocks.

This is the second time in Morrone's career that she has been chosen as the GLVC Player of the Week. She previously garnered the award for the week of Oct. 12, 2004.
