Dondlinger Signs to Play Volleyball at Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--Aubrey Dondlinger has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's volleyball at Lewis University.

Dondlinger (Palos Heights, Ill./Stagg H.S.), a 5-foot 11-inch outside hitter, earned three high school varsity letters and helped her team to three straight IHSA regional championships.

As a junior, Dondlinger posted 240 kills and had 38 service aces. She was named Illinois Gazette all-state honorable mention, Chicago Sun-Times all-area, The Star Newspapers all-area and all-conference.

A high school teammate with Lewis sophomore Andrea Morrone (Orland Park, Ill.), Dondlinger tied Morrone's single-season aces record at Stagg. Dondlinger posted a school-record 64 aces as a senior and added 223 kills and a team-high 357 points.

Dondlinger tallied 135 kills and 17 aces in 2002.

In addition to high school, Dondlinger has played club volleyball for the past six years. As a member of 1st Alliance of Chicago, she helped her team finish 17th in the nation in the open division at the Junior Olympics. She currently plays for Lion's Elite 18s.

Lewis concluded this past season 18-10 overall and 10-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The team regularly competes for the GLVC title and has made five NCAA Tournament appearances. This past season, the Flyers qualified for the GLVC Tournament for the 20th time in 22 years and earned the No. 5 seed.
