Oct. 27, 2005 ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--The Lewis University women's volleyball team worked on cruise control in a decisive 3-0 victory over Saint Xavier Thursday night. The Flyers (16-10) downed the visiting Cougars 30-19, 30-18, 30-19. Lewis committed just 11 hitting errors in the three-set match as the offense clicked at a .427 clip. Junior Theresa Nugent tallied a match-high 15 kills and 10 digs and also hit a season-best .571 (15k-3e-21att). Freshman Aubrey Dondlinger balanced the Flyer outside attack with 11 kills and a .450 hitting percentage. Becca Lisle and Val oils chipped in with eight kills each. Paige Pedigo carried Saint Xavier's offense, posting a team-high nine kills and .429 hitting percentage. Saint Xavier (16-18) was limited to a .133 hitting percentage for the match. |
