HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.--Three Flyers had six kills each, but the Lewis University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Northern Kentucky. Theresa Nugent, Rory Harrison and Jenna Sayers had six kills apiece as Lewis fell 30-24, 30-21, 30-22 to the Norse (16-8, 9-3 GLVC). Nugent added nine digs and a team-high five blocks in the loss. Junior Rochelle Ruen posted a team-best nine kills as Lewis (14-9, 6-6 GLVC) had its four-match winning streak snapped. Northern Kentucky held a commanding edge in kills (65-30) and had a .367 hitting percentage compared to Lewis' .200. The Flyers outblocked the Norse 7-5, but lost the battle in digs (60-40) and service aces (7-3). Lewis will look to get back on track as it travels to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 23. Match time is 2 p.m. |
