QUINCY, Ill.--Freshman Aubrey Dondlinger tallied a match-high 16 kills and sophomore Becca Lisle had 12 kills and a match-high six blocks as the Lewis University women's volleyball team cruised to a sweep of Quincy. The Flyers (12-8, 5-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference) ended a four-game losing streak with a dominating 30-18, 30-12, 30-25 victory over the host Hawks (4-12, 2-7 GLVC). Junior Theresa Nugent added 10 kills and a .421 hitting percentage for the Flyers. Setter Andrea Morrone handed out 30 assists, while Sarah McKinney had a team-high 18 digs. Lewis out-hit Quincy .287-.064 and held edges in blocks (6-5), digs (76-57), aces (5-2) and kills (44-32). The Flyers will face Missouri-St. Louis at 2 p.m. on Oct. 15 and then return home to play 12th-ranked Florida Southern at 1 p.m. on Sunday. |
