Oct. 11, 2005 INDIANAPOLIS - Lewis and Indianapolis played a rollercoaster of a Great Lakes Valley Conference women's volleyball match Tuesday night, and when the five-game ride was over, the host Greyhounds owned a 30-24, 18-30, 30-15, 20-30, 15-9 victory. Several Flyers posted solid numbers despite the defeat. Theresa Nugent led all players with 19 kills and had a .341 attack percentage, while Andrea Morrone (57 assists, match-high 21 digs) and Sarah McKinney (12 kills, 13 digs) recorded double-doubles. Morrone notched 20 or more digs for a third consecutive match and a sixth time overall this season. Abby Hodge (18 digs, season-high three service aces), Lauren Hatter (season highs of 16 digs and four service aces), Rebecca Lisle (season-high 15 kills, four blocks) and Jenna Sayers (10 kills, four blocks) also enjoyed good performances for the Flyers (11-8, 4-4 GLVC), who will look to snap a four-match losing streak in Friday's GLVC contest at Quincy. |
