ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Stephanie Sagat's 17 kills powered the Lewis Flyers to a 30-23, 32-30, 30-28 conference win over the Quincy Lady Hawks Saturday afternoon at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers improved to 15-4 (9-1) and won their seventh straight match for the team's longest win streak since 2002. Quincy fell to 4-17 (1-9). Sagat hit .314 for the match, recorded seven digs and served four aces. Charisse Steckling contributed 13 kills with a .300 hitting effort, and Theresa Nugent had 11 digs and nine kills. Lindsay Grim and Christina Avilina each added four kills for Lewis. Lauren Hatter posted a match-high 25 digs. For Quincy, JoAnna Kester and Jennifer Dameworth each totaled eight kills. Whitney Brown posted a team-best 11 digs. Lewis hit .280 for the match while limiting the Lady Hawks to a .191 effort. The Lady Hawks held an 8-5 edge in blocks. The Flyers conclude their three-match homestand against Indianapolis on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. |
