ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Sylvia Ciezak hit .667 with seven kills and Theresa Nugent led all players with 15 kills as the Lewis Flyers cruised to a 30-14, 30-21, 30-20 conference win over the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers, Friday night at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers improved to 11-4 (5-1) while the Panthers dropped to 2-10 (0-4). Ciezak compiled her seven kills on nine attempts with only one error, often times opting for placement over power. Stephanie Sagat added eight kills and Charisse Steckling had five. Sarah McKinney and Lindsey Grim each added three kills. Lauren Hatter posted a game-high 12 digs, while Andrea Morrone registered 29 assists before giving way to Jessica Guest, who came off the bench to add 10 more assists. The Flyers served nine aces in the match, including three by McKinney and two by Hatter. Lewis held a 4-2 edge in blocks and out-hit the Panthers .340 to .049. Meredith Krodel led the Panthers with six kills, while Erin Krodel and Beth White each notched nine digs. The Flyers play next at Saint Joseph's on September 29. |
