PENSACOLA, Fla.--The Lewis University women's volleyball team completed an undefeated run through the Comfort Inn-Vitational hosted by West Florida with a sweep of West Alabama Saturday afternoon.

Lewis (4-0) bested West Alabama (0-4) 30-22, 30-22, 30-25 to post a perfect record on its opening weekend of play.

For the fourth straight match, sophomores Theresa Nugent and Sarah McKinney led the Lewis attack. Nugent recorded a team-high 16 kills, marking the third time in four matches that she paced the Flyer offense. She hit .308 and added eight digs in the victory as well.

McKinney, a lefty opposite, punched down 10 kills and tallied eight digs in three games.

Freshman outside hitter Jessica Lockhart contributed nine kills and six digs, while junior setter Rochelle Ruen passed out 22 assists and notched seven kills.

Lewis returns home and will host its annual Labor Day weekend tournament, the Flyer Festival, Sept. 3-4.
