PENSACOLA, Fla. - Sarah McKinney led Lewis with 20 kills and 20 digs and was one of four Flyers to reach double digits in kills in the Flyers' 3-2 loss (28-30, 30-18, 31-29, 28-30, 8-15) to West Georgia Saturday afternoon at the West Florida Comfort Inn-vitational. Theresa Nugent (17), Charisse Steckling (13) and Sara deBuhr (13) were the other Flyers to reach double figures in kills. Nugent also had seven digs, Steckling hit a match-best .462 and deBuhr added six block assists. The Flyers also got 12 digs with five kills from Lauren Hatter and 54 assists with 10 digs from Andrea Morrone. For West Georgia, Carolin Schoeneck posted a match-high 28 kills while Julina da Silva totaled 24. Lewis outhit West Georgia .314 to .221 and held a 7-3 advantage in blocks. McKinney was named to the all-tournament team at utility player after totaling 55 digs and 50 kills in the Flyers four matches combined. The Flyers posted a 2-2 mark on the West Florida trip and now return home to host Michigan Tech on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in the first match of the 2006 Flyer Festival. |
