David Heller begins his third season as a student assistant for the Lewis University women's volleyball team.

Heller's main responsibilities include daily organization of practice and other team activities. In 2007 he helped the Flyers to a Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship and a trip to the Sweet 16. He helped the Flyers to a second GLVC title in 2008.

Heller is pursuing his MBA with an emphasis in accounting. He earned a bachelors degree in communications from Lewis in 2008. He was voted junior class president, and was a member of the Deans' List each semester.

Heller's cousin Joy Rauch played volleyball and basketball at Lewis. Heller hails from Waterloo, Neb. and attended Waterloo High School where he was valedictorian of his senior class.
