LOCKPORT, Ill. - The Lewis University women's tennis team concluded its fall season with a 6-3 win over St. Francis Monday afternoon. The Flyers (4-1) defeated the Saints (5-5-1) despite the unavailability of No. 1 singles and doubles player Allison Schmitz. Erin Piechocinski stepped up to No. 1 singles and posted a 7-5, 6-3 victory; she and Vicky Orlova won an 8-5 decision at No. 1 doubles. Other Lewis winners were Jordan Lynde at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-2), Katie Popp at No. 3 singles (6-1, 6-2), Orlova at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-2) and Lynde/Popp at No. 2 doubles (8-3). |
