ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--The Lewis University women's soccer team was held scoreless for the fifth straight game as the Flyers lost 3-0 to conference foe Indianapolis. Lewis (2-8-0, 0-4-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference) lost its sixth straight game after playing close in the first half, but giving way in the second half. Indianapolis (3-4-1, 1-1-1 GLVC) scored the game's opening goal at 8:38. The Greyhounds added a pair of insurance goals at 71:33 and 75:13. Lewis goalkeeper Courtney Hutt was peppered with 29 shots and stopped nine of Indianapolis' 12 shots on goal. The Flyers will look to end their losing streak when they host a non-conference game with Upper Iowa on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Upper Iowa is in its first year at NCAA Division II and sports a 6-5 record. |
