Sept. 19, 2004
OWENSBORO, Ky.--Despite controlling play throughout much of the second half, the Lewis women's soccer team was unable to earn its first conference victory of the season as it lost a 1-0 decision to Kentucky Wesleyan. The Flyers (2-6, 0-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference) fired six shots on goal in the second half and earned 12 corner kicks in the stanza, but were unable to slip a shot past KWC goalie Cheslie Hamilton. The Panthers, however, tallied the game's lone goal at 26:55 on an Angela Petronic unassisted score. Hamilton recorded 10 saves in the win, while Lewis goalkeepers Courtney Hutt and Lindsay Frederick posted three saves each. Frederick took the loss as she surrendered the first-half goal. |
