ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - University of Missouri-St. Louis scored with four seconds remaining in the first overtime to give the Tritons a 2-1 victory over Lewis in a conference game Friday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half the Tritons got on the board quickly in the second. Sierra Ellis' shot into the left corner at 47:23 (assisted by Rachel Hoff) broke the tie.

The Tritons didn't hold the lead for long as the Flyers responded quickly. Junior Courtney Kettel juked a defender and lofted a shot over Tritons goalkeeper Mary Behrmann into the right corner from the left side. The goal came at 55:07 and was unassisted. It was Kettel's fourth of the season and tenth in her Lewis career.

After over nine minutes of overtime it appeared the game would head into a second extra session. But with the clock winding down UMSL's Amy Fox broke the Flyers' hearts. Fox found some space on the right side and scored (unassisted) into the top of the goal from ten yards out at 99:56.

Despite the late goal freshman goalkeeper Andrea Iossi played well, especially in overtime as three of her six saves came in the extra time.

Just 26 seconds into the overtime the Flyers had their best opportunity to get the win. Freshman Colleen Kelly lofted a shot from the left side that went high and right.

The two teams accumulated 36 total fouls (20 for Lewis, 16 for UMSL). The Tritons' Jamie Pitterle (86:15) and Flyers' Courtney Kettel (89:09) received yellow cards.

UMSL held the edge in total shots (18-11) and corner kicks (9-3).

The Tritons improved to 3-2-1 (1-1 GLVC) while the Flyers fell to 2-5-0 (0-2 GLVC).

The Flyers return to action on Sunday at noon when they host Missouri-Rolla.
