The Flyers (12-9, 8-4 GLVC), winners of six of their last eight games, take on the St. Joseph's Pumas (5-16, 3-9 GLVC) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup.

LOOKING TO CLINCH: A victory on Thursday by Lewis OR a Rockhurst loss to Indianapolis clinches a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament berth for the Flyers.

SERIES HISTORY: Lewis leads the all-time series with the Pumas 31-28. The Flyers have won the previous 13 games. The last St. Joseph's victory came on Nov. 30, 2002 at St. Joseph's, 93-85.

MURDOCK STEPS IN: Freshman Labrenthia Murdock was inserted into the starting lineup at Bellarmine on Jan. 4, since then she's scored in double figures in seven of her nine starts.

MURDOCK FILLS UP THE STAT SHEET: Over just the nine games since Murdock has been inserted into the starting lineup, she's third on the team in scoring (97 total/10.8 per game) and second in assists (22). She's tops on the team in steals (24) during this time. In individual games she had 17 points at Indianapolis, eight assists at Drury, six steals against Kentucky Wesleyan and recorded three blocks in four games.

MORE ON MURDOCK'S BLOCKS: Labrenthia Murdock has 19 blocks on the season including a block in seven of the last eight games. She's recorded three blocks against Illinois-Springfield (Jan. 9), Indianapolis (Jan. 16), Kentucky Wesleyan (Jan. 28) and Southern Indiana (Jan. 30). Her flurry of blocks has tied for eighth in the GLVC in blocks with 0.90 per game.

HOME SWEET HOME: Dating back to last season the Flyers have won nine consecutive GLVC games at Neil Carey Arena.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE VISION: Jenny Turpel has a GLVC-best eight double-doubles this year. Quincy's Courtney Shuman is in second with six.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE X2: Before Saturday's game against Southern Indiana, Turpel was the only Flyer to record a double-double this season. Then against Southern Indiana both Kelly Dianis (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Devon Carbaugh (10 points, 11 rebounds) had one.

1,000 FOR DIANIS: During Lewis' game against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, Jan. 28 senior Kelly Dianis scored her 1,000th career point. Her 1,018 career points rank 18th all-time in Lewis history.

1,000 FOR JT: During the Flyers' contest at Drury on Jan. 23 Jenny Turpel moved into 10th all-time in career points by passing Brenda Wegrzyn's (1991-95) 1,127 career points. Currently Turpel has 1,164 career points.

JT ON THE BOARDS: Jenny Turpel has increased her rebounds per game from 4.6 as a freshman to 6.9 last season and 7.9 this year, fourth in the conference. Additionally her 8.3 boards per game in conference play ranks first in the GLVC. Turpel's 486 career rebounds rank 17th in Lewis history. She needs 87 more to crack the top 10 and 14 more for 500 rebounds.

FROM WAY DOWNTOWN: Lewis is averaging 7.05 treys per game, second best in the GLVC. Kelly Dianis' 2.19 3-pointers per game ranks fifth in the GLVC.

THREE CHEERS: Kelly Dianis passed Bonnie Richrath (1990-94) to become second all-time in career 3-pointers on Dec. 28 at Upper Iowa. She topped Richrath's 173. Dianis stands at 199 for her career. Lewis' all-time leader is Carey Jewell (1996-00). Jewell connected on 271 3-pointers during her career.

GOING FOR 150: Lewis has made a 3-pointer in 149 consecutive games. The last time they failed to connect on a 3-pointer was Jan. 27, 2005 against Indianapolis.

ON THE BOARDS: Lewis held a 47-29 rebounding edge against Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday. The +18 margin was their largest advantage of the season.

ON THE OFFENSIVE GLASS: Lewis has recorded more offensive rebounds than their opponent in six consecutive games. The Flyers are averaging 13.57 offensive rebounds per game, second in the conference.

THE ROMEOVILLE 500: Kelly Monaco (499), Kady Currin (465) and Devon Carbaugh (432) are nearing 500 career points.

HELPING HAND: Lewis' 0.86 assist/turnover ratio ranks sixth in the conference. Kady Currin's 1.44 assist/turnover ratio ranks eighth in the GLVC.

HURRAY FOR RESERVES: Last season Lewis had four starters average 30 or more minutes per game thanks to injuries which brought the Flyers' rotation down to just eight. This season only Kady Currin is above 30 minutes a game with 31.0. The reason for a decrease in minutes is a deeper bench which has seen 13 Flyers earn playing time this year.
