INDIANANPOLIS-- - Faced with their second straight defensive battle, the Lewis University women's basketball team lost to Indianapolis 60-52 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference road match.

Lewis and Indianapolis combined to shoot 30.1 percent from the field and commit 52 turnovers in a game where offense was at a premium.

The Flyers (4-5, 3-3 GLVC) led by nine with 11:32 to play after an 11-0 second-half run. Sophomore Erin Cox sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around a Mary Moskal lay up and 3-pointer that vaulted the Flyers from a 29-27 deficit to a 38-39 lead.

Indianapolis (7-2, 3-2 GLVC) answered Lewis' burst with a 12-2 run that tied the game at 40-all with 8:23 to play. The Greyhounds took the lead for good after senior Erin Moran knocked down a 3-pointer that gave Indianapolis a 46-44 lead with 5:03 to play.

Lewis stayed within two points into the final minute and a half, but didn't make a field goal in the final 90 seconds. Indianapolis made all eight of its free throws down the stretch and was 25 of 29 (86.2 percent), including 23 of 27 in the second half, from the line.

Moskal paced Lewis with game highs of 19 points and nine rebounds. She also had a team-best three assists. Sophomore Darcee Schmidt added 10 points and five rebounds, while Erin Cox had eight points and seven rebounds.
