Box Score

SOMERS, Wis. - Shante Glenn scored 14 of her team-high 17 points in the second half, helping the Lewis Flyers rally past Wisconsin-Parkside 69-64, Tuesday evening in a Great Lakes Valley Conference contest at DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Flyers improved to 15-7 overall with an 11-3 mark in the GLVC, while the Rangers dropped to 5-17 (2-12 GLVC).

Glenn shot 6-of-11 from the field with two 3-pointers, and she grabbed a team-leading six rebounds. Mary Moskal had 14 points, and Darcee Schmidt collected 11. Senior Cassie Stark contributed a season-high 11 points in 22 minutes of action off the bench.

The Rangers led early, building a six-point advantage over the first five minutes and increasing it to a 21-10 lead, their biggest of the game, at the 12:11 mark of the first half. They took a seven-point cushion (31-22) into the intermission.

The Flyers turned the tables to start the second half, using a 10-0 run to take a 34-31 lead with 15:39 to play. From that point on, the game stayed close with the Flyers and Rangers exchanging the lead seven times.

A Glenn jumper with 2:39 to play put the Flyers out in front, and 4-of-4 free-throw shooting down the stretch kept the Rangers at bay.

Carrie Schieve led the Rangers scoring effort with a game-high 20 points. Ashley Ferguson and Chelsey Schadler each tallied 12, while Mackenzie Heise posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Lewis shot 45 percent for the game, made 18-of-24 free throws and brought down 36 rebounds. Wisconsin-Parkside hit at a 44-percent clip from the floor, made 8-of-13 from the line and corralled 29 boards.

The Flyers play again on Saturday when they host Kentucky Wesleyan at 1 pm.
