Lewis Holds Off Indy In Lowest Scoring Game In Flyers' History :: Lewis held to lowest point total in four years

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - In what turned out to be the lowest scoring game in Lewis women's basketball history, the Flyers captured a 45-39 win over Indianapolis Thursday evening in conference action at Nicoson Hall.

The Flyers (18-2, 11-1) increased their school-record win streak to 12 games, while Indianapolis fell to 11-8 (5-7).

Mary Moskal, Darcee Schmidt and Jenna Mooberry scored 12 points apiece, registering all but nine of the Flyer' point total. Moskal also had five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. Schmidt pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, and she had a season-high five steals. Mooberry totaled seven boards, three assists and one block.

Brittney Diener added four points, and she recorded eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal. Erin Cox set a season high with four of Lewis' season-high nine blocks. Kaci Baird (2) and Kelly Dianis (3) accounted for the rest of Lewis' scoring.

The Flyers led 7-0 to start the game and held their largest lead of the night, 24-12, with 4:34 to play in the first half. Indianapolis outscored Lewis 8-0 over the last 3:34 of the first and scored first in the second half to cut Lewis lead to two points.

Lewis managed to build its lead back to 11 points with 7:24 to play in the game but failed to score another field goal from that point forward, going 0-8 from the floor the rest of the way. Lewis finals six points came at the foul line.

Indianapolis went 5-for-10 from the floor during the final 7:07 of the game and was within three points of the Flyers with 18 seconds to play, but Moskal and Mooberry kept Lewis in front by combining to go 3-for-4 at the line in the game's final seconds.

Amanda Norris led Indianapolis with 11 points.

The Flyers were held to their lowest point total since Feb. 6, 2003, when Indianapolis claimed a 71-42 win at Lewis. Indianapolis' 39 points were the lowest by a Flyers' opponent since a 62-37 Lewis win at IPFW on Jan. 31, 1998.

Lewis' previous low for combined points in a game was 85 in a 53-37 win over Puerto-Rico Mayaquez on Nov. 16, 1997.
