ROMEOVILLE - Lewis University junior Andy Tremble has been named Runner of the Week in Great Lakes Valley Conference men's cross country.

Tremble registered a career-best performance last Saturday at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational. He clocked a 24:53, his first sub-25-minute effort and 24 seconds faster than his previous career best, and finished eighth among 270 competitors in the 28-team Gold Division that included 18 NCAA Division I squads.

Tremble's performance led Lewis to 13th place. The Flyers defeated Division I teams Xavier, Southern Illinois, Missouri State, Central Florida, Evansville, Illinois-Chicago, Southeast Missouri State, Illinois State, Creighton, Marshall, DePaul and Valparaiso.
