ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Lewis University's Andrew Northrup (Elmwood, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Northrup, a senior for the Flyers, led Lewis to a strong showing at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday. Northrup finished eighth overall in a field consisting of 280 runners. He battled windy and wet weather conditions and completed the challenging and hilly 8,000-meter course in a time of 26:16. His efforts helped pace the Flyers to a ninth-place team finish in the event with 25 participating teams. Lewis finished the meet with a team score of 228. Minnesota State-Mankato won the event with a final score of 110. Northrup is Lewis' first GLVC Runner of the Week this season.
