ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University's men's cross country team is ranked seventh in the Great Lakes Region, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) preseason cross country rankings. The Flyers finished seventh at the Great Lakes Regional Championship in 2006, falling just 11 points short of fifth-place, the cut-off position to qualify as a team for the national meet. Grand Valley State University's men and women are both ranked number one in the first cross country poll of 2007. The Lakers of GVSU finished fifth at the NCAA Division II Cross Country national meet in 2006 after winning the Great Lakes regional title. Coming in at number two is Wayne State University. The Warriors finished as the runner-up team last year in the Great Lakes regional and finished eighth at the D-II national meet. With a third place finish at the regional meet last year, Saginaw Valley State enters the 2007 season as the number three ranked team in the Great Lakes Region. Division II Great Lakes Regional Men |
