PENSACOLA, Fla. - Lewis University senior Andy Tremble earned All-America honors for a second consecutive season by finishing 17th among 187 runners Saturday at the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship. Tremble covered the 10,000-meter course in 29:59.3. He improved 15 spots over his 32nd-place finish at the 2005 national meet. Tremble concluded his career as just the sixth runner in Lewis men's cross country history to make multiple All-America teams, joining Arturo Cabral (1998-2001), Mirek Bieniecki (1995-97), David Locker (1996-97), Charles Mulinga (1994-95) and Les Stoklosa (1992-93). He also was a two-time all-region competitor, including a runner-up finish at this season's NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Championship; a three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference runner, including GLVC titles as a junior and senior; the 2003 GLVC Freshman of the Year; and the 2005 GLVC men's cross country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. |
